Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011), Madagascar 3 (2012) and Golden Globe Nomination for Heath Ledger

[ad_1]

I don’t know much about Kung Fu Panda since I’ve never watched it and don’t intend on doing so any time soon, unless I get really bored and desperate. But I will admit that having my favorite stars (Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan and Lucie Liu) in it makes it tempting and the $631,619,244 it earned worldwide arouses curiosity. But an all star cast plus popularity doesn’t always equal good movie. Anyway, Kung Fu Panda fans will be glad to know that there is a sequel scheduled to be released on June 2011. Hope you’ll enjoy it.

Now a feature where an all star cast (Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Cedric The Entertainer) plus popularity ($532,680,671)equaled great movie – for me – is Madagascar; one of the funniest movies. Its sequel, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, which was released on November 07th 2008, is better than its predecessor and, so far has earned $293,566,178. DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg said "Escape 2 Africa" is the "second chapter in one story, there is at least one more chapter. We ultimately want to see the characters make it back to New York." Meaning, if they don’t make it back in the third installment, their will be a fourth one. If they don’t make it back in the fourth one, there will be a fifth one and so on. I’m more exited about more “Madagascar” chapters than the prequels Shrek 4 (2010) and Shrek 5 (No Date Yet). As long as King Julien and Maurice and the Penguins stay, I’ll definitely watch them. Speaking of the Penguins, they have their own series titled The Penguins of Madagascar which will premiere on Nickelodeon on March 2009. King Julien and Maurice are also in it. Yeah!!!

The Dark Knight is back in theaters in hopes of increases its Golden Globe and Oscar chances. The Golden Globe nominations were announced on Thursday and the movie received only one nomination: Best Supporting Actor for none other than Heath Ledger. The other nominees are Tom Cruise (Tropic Thunder), Robert Downer Jr. (Tropic Thunder), Ralph Fiennes (The Duchess) and Philip Seymour Hoffman (Doubt). Let’s hope that it will have better luck at the 81st Oscar hosted by Hugh Jackman.
